Spring Island sanctuary

This is a painting done from a sketch while I was on Spring Island for a Visiting Artist Retreat many years ago. I was excited to photograph the surrounding marsh, but it was overcast and foggy all week. So I pivoted and focused on these dense, vibrant, wild groves of Live Oaks dripping with Spanish Moss and Resurrection Fern.
