Local bands the Archetypes and Grayman will perform, and some of Charleston's finest visual artists will be touting their wares. Featured artists include Charles Ailstock, Susan Avent, E.M.S Barnwell, John Duckworth, Patterson Graham, Kevin Harrison, Jeff Kopish, Ayoka Lucas, Marni Rothschild, Tripp Storm and Kevin Taylor.John Duckworth, one of the participating artists, says, "Susan Avent and I have been friends for about eight years now, so when she called asking for help, I said 'yes' before she even told me what the whole thing was about. When I learned it was an event to help purchase lights and sound equipment for a nonprofit theater center sponsored by the Humanities Foundation, I was hooked."
Light It Up! takes place Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Humanities Center at 554 Rutledge Ave.
The per-person donation is $55. Tickets may be purchased at the door.
